Home - Uncategorized - How can I be successful as a Transworld Business Advisor?

Thinking about investing in a franchise? You may also be wondering just how successful you can be with their business model. See what Transworld Business Advisors’ franchise partners have achieved with their businesses, this year.

Finding the right business opportunity for you and your future is an interesting journey. There are various options to consider, and knowing how to plan for success is dependent on the route you choose. Earlier this year, we looked at the importance of knowing “why” you want to start a business, and how it can help you identify the right place to look.

However, even when you understand your “why” you’ll want to know “how” you can actually achieve this goal. Will you create a start-up from an idea you’ve had? Buy a business? Or invest in a franchise? If you’re thinking about investing in a franchise, you may also be wondering how successful you can be, just by following their business model. A valid question you’re no doubt researching, if you’re carrying out any kind of due diligence on franchises you’re interested in, like Transworld Business Advisors.

How the Transworld franchise can help you discover success

Last month, we introduced you to Harry Cope who had just completed on the second of his
six-figure commission deals, for this year. Despite only starting his Transworld business in 2021.

Within the network of UK franchise partners, we have completed one deal every week, so far in 2022. When you think about what is involved in the sale of a business, and the negotiations involved, this is a massive achievement! So, as a franchise partner with us, you can feel confident the Transworld process works, and so does our support system for our partners!

Over recent months, our franchise partners have supported a number of clients to sell their business, matching them with investors who were looking to expand theirs. These include:

  1. Transworld of Manchester supported a Stockport based telematics business to be acquired by a Netherlands-based telematics company, backed by a pan European Private Equity firm.

Our client, AMI Group, was acquired by Moving Intelligence, a provider of fleet management hardware and software for trailers, boats, containers and standard vehicles. By helping them to purchase AMI Group, one of the UK’s leading providers of plug & play vehicle tracking technologies used in off-highway equipment, such as excavators, generators and engines, they are pushing the boundaries both nationally and internationally.

  2. Transworld London South West enabled a business owner to retire, but allowing their son to continue to grow the brand, through investment.

Our client, Ashleigh & Burwood, are an independent, UK-based fragrance products manufacturer. John Nettleton and his son, Andrew, founded their business in 1993, designing and manufacturing branded and white-label fragrance products for the home; candles, room sprays, and reed diffusers. When John wanted to retire, we connected them with publicly listed fund, Literacy Capital, who were looking to expand their portfolio with a new platform investment.

  • The owner of Special Treats Production Company, was ready to retire after over 35 years of building the reputation of his production and PR agency, and looked to Transworld of London for help.

Our client had worked with companies such as Apple, Disney Pictures, Warner Bros, Universal and Netflix, so didn’t want to just let his business die-out. We found a buyer who provided different services to the same clients across the entertainment, music, gaming and hospitality sectors. They were keen to expand their capabilities in to the audio visual arena, and Special Treats seemed like an excellent fit, but more importantly a superb cultural fit allowing our client to retire and management carry on running the company.

  • In September, SOS Leak Detection founders, Nik Day and Brad Wilby, asked Transworld of Peterborough to help them retire.

SOS are a facilities management and services company providing non-destructive escape of water detection and associated remedial services. They work with home owners and customers in the insurance sector and have resolved over 15,000 escape of water instances over the last three years. The founding owners, will remain partial investors in their business going forward benefitting from some future upside and providing strategic and business development support, alongside new owners, YFM Equity Partners and a new managing director.

As you can see, the kind of deals you could be helping to negotiate vary extensively. By following the Transworld model, building relationships in your business community, and implementing the Transworld proven steps for business sale, you can be a success. And, we will provide the training, mentoring and support to help you achieve this.
